Seller: albykiwi (1.551) 100%, Location: Wellington, Ships to: Worldwide, Item: 273554786064 Original press photograph from USA from 1944 shows the airfield at St. Pierre-du-Mont, Normandy under construction and a P47 Thunderbolt taking off. I have seen this photo before and the markings on the nose of the P47 indicate it was a Fighter belonging to the 397th Fighter Squadron which was part of the 368th Fighter Group. This airfield was an ALG or Advanced Landing Ground numbered A1 it was one of the first constructed after D-Day. The print is in what I would describe as a very good condition for it’s age. Check out the photos. The print measures 115mm x 157mm. Let me know if you have a particular interest. Any questions please ask. Condition: Used
